authors who need to place these working forms on their websites.
It was started in February '97 (under the name "FreeForm"), and
currently serves approximately 50,000 Members.
Freedback.com is able to remain free through the kind support of
their advertisers. This presents a novel internet marketing opportunity
for advertisers. They currently offer both pay-per-click and pay-per-impression
approaches.
Their website serves two very attractive audiences. The main entry
page at http://Freedback.com is highly targeted to web authors,
and more specifically, to those who do not have easy access to CGI.
Thus, visitors are often good candidates for other free Web services,
additional Internet services for young and growing content publishers,
and small-office / home-office business services.
The main entry page is served to over 50,000 unique visitors per
month. The second audience are the people who respond to a feedback
form located on one of our 50,000 Members' websites, and then land
on our response page.
While the traffic is mostly undifferentiated, the attraction of
this audience is that each visitor has completed a "thought transaction",
(having just submitted a form), and is therefore much more likely
to consider a visit to a new destination. The response page is delivered
to almost a half million unique visitors per month.
